    St Louis area geese

Good morning waterfowl talk! As the duck season slows down and ice moves in I got honkers on my mind, I'm looking for any advice or direction to hunt geese. I hunt public land I don't have any private land to hunt or clubs. I've had decent hunts at duck Creek but that's 2 hours away and looking for a place a can hit in the morning and home same day. I hunt ducks at Columbia bottoms and Marias temps but it's rare those areas to be killing geese. Seems like not to many areas around St Louis kill geese. Any suggestions or advice to hunt honkers?

Wellll theres actually a TON of geese that killed around the STL area. Problem is 99% of it is done on private land/clubs. Only suggestion I have for you is if you have a big river capable boat hit up the river and find a good sand bar.

With the weather that will be here at the end of the week with no end is sight you will need to go to a river everything else will be frozen solid, take salt and ice melt for the ramp.

Do like we do and find a field they are using and go see if you can get permision from the owner. Worst case they tell you no.

Don't be afraid of the ice they open shanks up after it freezes and you can go where you want no draw just bring a sledgehammer and watch mallards fall in wouldnt suggest hunting alone on those days though

Find farm fields when it gets real cold that's about all I have for ya not a whole lot of huntable public ground around here unless you buy a boat then the possiblities are endless

I visited the east side this week, reminded me of Vacation w/ Chevy Chase. Road construction had us in a spot where the words "Bang Rape" were painted in 6 foot high letters on a building. I was glad Cold Duck was in a souped up Altima and I was in my pick up. He'd have been jacked long before me

Totaly agree thats what I do even at that find a feild that is near where they are going to and you usually can pull them in or closer to were there comeing from might not pull limits every time but you should be able to do a good job at it.

That's pretty interesting I'm as far west as you can go on the continent and the same holds true for us ,
River sand bars in the area that hold geese can be fantastic hunting.

Nope, spaghetti factory , w/in walking distance from the dome however we drove and toured Illinois twice and then turned off into what I can only assume where they will eventually find Hoffa's remains and the Lindbergh baby. Of course they will have to dog under spent casings, condoms and used points to find them. I honestly have no clue how you east siders ever get a moments peace over there. Had me as nervous as a whore in church listening o Obama talk about change and hope.
